Fall 2017 Quarterly Newsletter

Dear Readers,

There really is no bad season in Santa Barbara. Each season brings something unique and fun. However, fall is one of the most beautiful seasons here.

The changing colors of the trees are breathtaking, the crisp fall air is intoxicating, and the beaches are a little more magical. Our guest rooms also feel a bit cozier when the seasons starts to change.

Looking back on the past few months, so much has happened in our little town of Santa Barbara.

Let’s look at some of the more interesting highlights:

MOXI Museum: We were pleased to see this gem open up just a few blocks away. MOXI – The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation, is a high tech children’s museum that your kids will absolutely love. This is a world-class museum which offers awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind experiences that unite learning and play to actively engage young minds.

Lower State St: The estimated $130 million La Entrada project on lower state is finally nearing completion. Our guests will now enjoy a variety of new shops, wine tasting spots and restaurants just steps from the Inn.  It’s heartwarming to see the developers embracing local culture.  They seem to be designing the open plazas, paseos, and gardens in Santa Barbara’s quintessential Spanish Colonial Revival style.

Funk Zone:  The Funk Zone continues to evolve before our eyes and there’s no shortage of creativity in sight. It’s bursting with breathtaking murals, funky sculptures and creative storefronts. Check out the complete Funk Zone merchant directory here.

Photo Contest:  We launched a quarterly photo contest and all you need to enter is to take a selfie.  We’re calling the contest the “The Eagle Inn Selfie Contest” and we want to you to strut your stuff for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.

Fall Fare: Local fine dining restaurants, like Toma, Lark, Bouchon, Cadiz and Chucks Waterfront Grille have started to use fall ingredients and their fall menus are fabulous! Now is your chance to book the fall getaway you deserve. Come relax around our historic Santa Barbara bed and breakfast and sip wine under the autumn sun. Doesn’t that sound perfect?

With the seasons changing from sweltering hot to dry and cooler, your skin may need a little TLC. Evolutions Spa is just steps away from The Eagle Inn, and has a variety of skin therapy packages to give your skin the pick me up it needs this fall!

  1. Along with the changing of the color of the trees, I also feel like taking things slowly during fall. The suggested activities and places to visit you have above are just perfect for me. It’s also nice to know Santa Barbara hotel deals that are best for family and couples.

  2. I definitely agree — “fall is one of the most beautiful seasons here.” Our Santa Barbara weekend getaways have always been memorable. Aside from the many events happening throughout the season, there’s so much to do. You can simply take in all the sceneries, enjoy good food, and of course join a selection of Santa Barbara wine tasting tours. The anticipation of the upcoming holidays also adds to the magic of Santa Barbara during this season.
